Building for a mission
LightHouse Building Fund
Our Vision: Calvary GVR exists to shine the light of Jesus in our community— we are a city on a hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14–16). A light in the darkness and a place where our community can experience the transforming love of Christ and hear His Word declared boldly.
God has blessed us with endurance and a consistent witness in the community since 2009. and He has blessed us abundantly in growth in depth and fellowship. We believe He is calling us to put down roots in this community for generations to come. The Lighthouse Building Fund is our next step toward that vision: establishing a permanent home where lives are transformed by the Good News of Christ.

shining the light of the gospel in NE Denver
Why Now? In 2025, we fasted and prayed and sought the Lord together - we explored options for a new space, including a warehouse buildout. Those doors closed, but in the process, God opened another: the possibility of acquiring a nearby facility already suited for worship and ministry. And we have 10-12 months to prepare.
This is a huge opportunity—but it requires preparation. Even with this new opportunity, we expect a build out sufficient for us to obtain a legal use permit to be over $100,000...
We believe "where God guides -God provides" - but that we are commanded to steward resources wisely and give generously to be part of what He is doing.
2026 is our year to count the cost and lay the foundation (Luke 14:28–32).

The Challenge - Sacrificial Giving - If you haave been blessed by the ministry of Calvary GVR - If you consider yourself part of the ministry here - if you believe that Calvary GVR is the tool that God is going to use to "...give light to all in the house" (Matt 5:15) in NE Denver: 1) Pray: Ask God what role He wants you to play; 2) Give: make a one time gift, a recurring gift or a pledge to the Lighthouse Building Fund; & 3) Share: invite others to join in this vision.
Remember - The Lighthouse Building Fund is a free will offerring (above-and-beyond giving) — it shouldn't be a substitute for regular tithes and offerings. Your weekly giving keeps ministry moving: discipleship, outreach, care.

How the Fund Works - The Lighthouse Building Fund is what is called a "designated giving fund". Meaning that the treasurer of the church is responsible for providing a separate accounting for all designated funds in order to ensure contributions are used for the purpose described - in this case: for any costs related to acquiring, renovating and adapting leased or purchased property in the Green Valley Ranch area for use as a church facility. Calvary Green Valley does not accept designated giving except where explicitly stated otherwise. The church maintains a budget In matters of benevolence, supplies, facility costs, outreach, evangelism, missionary support, leadership development (and much more). Inquiries as to the church's budget, giving and any specific matters can be made by Beacon Partners in good standing.
FAQ
If the church has been in GVR since 2009, why have we waited until now to plan a move?
Over the past 16 years, we have prayerfully pursued a permanent home in Green Valley Ranch. Each time, we sought the Lord’s direction—and each time, He seemed to say, “Not yet.”
We’ve had several “almost” opportunities, including: a potential partnership with a daycare facility, a possible land grant from a local builder, even exploring an old airplane hangar We’ve even had chances to settle just outside GVR, but God has consistently strengthened our commitment to this community. In every case, doors closed, and circumstances confirmed that the timing wasn’t right. During these years, we’ve watched dozens of church plants start strong only to dissolve or leave the area. This has only deepened our conviction that our calling is to serve and remain in GVR.
But - the reality is that real estate here is expensive, and there are no existing church buildings available for lease. The cost to build out a warehouse or retail space has been prohibitive, and other options simply didn’t materialize.
But now, God has opened a door. He has provided a location in GVR (80249) that meets our needs with reasonable build-out requirements—and He has given us a sense of peace and excitement about this next step. We believe this is His timing, and we are ready to move forward in faith.

What is the cost to build or lease a facility in Green Valley Ranch?
Even a moderate facility that would meet code requirements and meet the needs of a congregation of our size would be a minimum of $5 million dollars to build - which would require $1-1.5 Million in cash up front and roughly $60,000 monthly in loan payments and maintenance and insurance.
A leased facility is much more affordable (generally less that $20,000 monthly - however any leased facility must meet code requirements (egress, fire protection, Air ventalation and circulation requirements, ADA compliance, etc.) Modifying a space for this can cost upwards of $200,000.... Needless to say - it would be a real blessing to find a facility which has already been partially modified. As of the beginning of 2026. There are no existing church buildings in GVR or buildings that could be converted for use as a public venue. Outside of a school building, theater or indoor arena (of which only school buildings are present in GVR) any facility we would use must be built ground up for our purpsoes, or undergo extensive build out.
With man this is impossible - but with God, all things are possible

What if the build out on the leased facility comes in below what we raise?
Our plan would be to retain the building fund until we were eventually able to expand the facility we lease and purchase our own building. We look forward to a day when we can build a facility that not only meets the needs of our congregation, but also serves as an anchor for the entire community of GVR. It is our intent to make a long term investment in the vision of being a beacon of light to this community - so we wil plan accordingly.
Of course it is up to the Lord to provide the increase that would make a larger facility necessarily, but we wait upon Him actively with anticipation.

Haven't we been just fine meeting in the school for all these years? Isn't it better to just keep doing that?
We began meeting in our current location in (Building 1 of the Evie Garret Dennis facility) in 2010. It has been a tremendous blessing and we are so thankful for the way that the Lord has used this school cafeteria to bless and increase the ministry over the years. If God is calling us to meet there - or to set up in a tent for the next 100 years or until Christ comes to take us home... Praise God!
But, we believe that God is calling us to put down roots here. The costs of leasing a facility (even for just a few hours on a Sunday morning) are still our largest expense - and they continue to grow every year. We envision a facility where the community can find us all week long, one which we can use as a base to minister to and serve our neighborhood, where we can hold multiple services and Bible studies. We believe the time and volunteer energy dedicated to setting up and breaking down weekly could be dedicated to helping us minister and serve better in this community.
